Here's the first trailer for return To Poughkeepsie! As you can tell, our sweet couple Livia and Blake are in a bit of danger. Here's an exclusive excerpt:
Livia and Kellan had passed out almost immediately. The ice water was forming condensation. Emme had her big green eyes looking all around for a few minutes, but the morning light was softened by the drawn blinds and she was getting sleepy as well. Livia wasn’t awake when Emme put her little hand on her cheek, patting gently.
Emme’s blinks got longer and longer until she, too was asleep. Blake turned the sound off on his phone before snapping a few pictures of the serene moment. He stood and tucked a blanket around all three of them.
He’d kill a man to keep them safe. He’d tear the world apart to make sure they never felt anything but joy, no matter how unrealistic it truly was. Damn, if he couldn’t do it.
And this song was killing me this morning, thinking of Blake and Livia and their Return to Poughkeepsie situation:
And to illustrate this, here's an excerpt from my super secret project:
“I love this, and I love you.” She leaned against him.
“Let me light the fire.”
He went over to a fire circle he must’ve made earlier. Soon enough he had the fire gasping to life. He pulled a small blanket from behind the trees and spread it out. Livia sat down and motioned for him to join her. He got a stick to poke at the fire as it consumed the wood.
“I’m glad I came here,” she told him. “Imagine if you’d gone to all this trouble and I never saw it?” He gave the fire a last poke and then put his head in her lap. She stroked his hair away from his face.
“Well, if we’re lucky enough, we might get an extra surprise.” He squinted as he looked past her to the clouds.
Livia kissed his lips again. She felt for his hand and found it cold. She frowned. She hated Blake in any discomfort at all. She slipped it under her coat and shirt so his cold hand was on her warm stomach. Gasping, she pressed to keep his skin touching hers when he tried to remove his hand.
“You’re a hand-warmer now?” He bit his lip.
“For you I am.” Livia grabbed his other hand as well.
Blake didn’t need any more invitation. He warmed both sides of his hands before twisting to push her backward on the blanket.
“You have even warmer spots for my hands.”
